WHO WE ARE

My love for hands-on work began by working for my father. He was a residential general contractor. For the most part he built additions to suburban homes. I worked for him in the summers for five years. He passed away in 1995 which brought an end to Kenneth C. Dorn Construction, but marked the beginning of my painting career.

 

I grew up in Bloomington and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School. I went to college at St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN. I graduated in 2000 with a B.A. in Art. I later attended the University of Minnesota and completed undergraduate course work for the Masters of Architecture degree. This education has provided a great background for my painting business.

 

KD Painting has allowed me to pursue my passion of serving people by providing them with quality work. My dad taught me how to work hard, be a good craftsman by caring about the details, and to respect the homeowner and their property. These values have been the foundation of my house painting business over the years. In the summer of 1996, my friend and I started a house painting business, called RK Painting. We painted many homes for three summers. The summer of 1999 I worked with J & J Painting. KD Painting started doing business in May of 2002. 

 

I take great pride in my crew because they uphold the values of KD Painting. We take pride in our superior service and quality craftsmanship.  Off the job-site we are connected to the local community.  We participate in the Bloomington softball league, the Bloomington Heritage Days Parade, and spend our time in  Bloomington and the surrounding community.
