Who We Are
I began working with my father's residential general contracting business, Kenneth C. Dorn Construction, at a very young age, building additions to suburban homes for five summers. After my father's passing in 1995, I began my painting career.
I grew up in Bloomington, graduating from John F. Kennedy High School, attended St. John's University in Collegeville, MN, graduating in 2000 with a B.A. in Art, and later completed undergraduate coursework for a Masters of Architecture degree at the University of Minnesota. This education has provided me with a background that has been invaluable in my painting business.
KD Painting allows me to pursue my passion for serving people with quality work. My father taught me the values of hard work, craftsmanship, attention to detail, and respect for homeowners. I started "RK Painting" with a friend in the summer of 1996, painting many homes for three summers, worked with "J & J Painting" in the summer of 1999, and finally started "KD Painting" in May of 2002.
I am proud of my crew for upholding KD Painting's values, superior service, and quality craftsmanship. We are connected to our local community through participation in the Bloomington softball league, the Bloomington Heritage Days Parade, and spending time in Bloomington and the surrounding community.
